Shootin‘ for the Silver

Category Declaration – You must be a ACSA member in good standing to declare a Shootin' for the Silver shooting category.  You must be declare, in writing,  before your first Shootin' for the Silver match to count.  Any match shot prior to your declaring will not count.  No category changes will be allowed once declared. 

Number of Matches -- You must shoot 50% +1 of the matches that count for the year.  For example; if there are 13 matches you must shoot 7 in your declared category, if there are 12 matches you must shoot 7 in your declared category, if there are 11 matches you must shoot 6 in your declared category. Number of matches that count will be determined by the ACSA board and can vary due to cancelations or other circumstances. The matches may be shot in any order.

Required Competition - There must be at least two shooters declared and shooting the required matches to win silver (50%+1).  It must be the same person, but need not be the same matches. If you deviate from your declared SFTS category during the year, those matches will not count towards SFTS.

Scoring: SFTS scoring is based on the SFTS competitors placement with other SFTS competitors in their declared category for each monthly match.  Competitors will be awarded points based on the placement in that group, i.e., 1^st = 1 point, 2^nd= 2 points, 3^rd = 3 points, etc. Competitor with the fewest points in their best of [50%+1] matches is the winner.

Breaking Ties –If a tie occurs the winner will be declared by the combined scores of matches that tying shooters had both shot.  This provides a head to head completion for shooting the matches.

Awards – Each winner of a fully contested category will receive an ACSA Shootin' for the Silver buckle with their name and category.  Second through 3rd(5th?) will receive ???  Note: You cannot win the Silver two years in a row in the same category.
