Matches Canceled. So I'm on my way to Texas to shoot the Trailhead Match in Columbus TX and then follow that up with the Texas State Match, Comancheria, just south of Fredericksburg TX. I made it as far at Ft Stockton before both are canceled. Now, I'm on my way home.

So what are your thoughts on canceling matches? If restrictions on large (10+?) gatherings is suggested, are there alternatives to shooting in large groups?

How about matches where there is no sign-in, no payment, just shoot a stage when you want during a prescribed time period - like from 9am until 12pm ... ?

We set up the steel on four stages, leave a stage description at each, a pile of personal scorecards at each, you start where you wish, when you wish, put your scorecard on the bottom of the stack and when your card percolates to the top, you  shoot. In the interim, you pick brass, spot or take the timer. Once you've shot one stage, move to the next, put your card on the bottom of the stack, and repeat until you've shot all the stages you  wish.

Turn in your scorecard at the end, your score is tabulated and posted on-line the day after.

So do I get to run the timer and spot for myself so no one has to get near me when I am shooting?  Do I have to wear a SASS approved Hasmat suite while on the range?  What does everyone think about this?

"Cowboy Action Shooting is a Social Event Interrupted by Gunfire" is what I was told 25 years ago when I started.  Without the socializing you may as well go golfing or fishing by yourself.  What do other members think about this situation?

You can't maintain safe space and RO properly. You can't watch at unload from that far away, either.  Tablets and timers should be wiped down each time they change hands.  Max 10 people in the bay, rest are lined up 6 feet apart outside the bay.  None of us know if we're sick or if one of our friends is sick so we all have to behave like we are tying not to infect anyone and trying not to get infected at the same time.   Doesn't sound like a party to me.
