Beginning in April, ACSA will be holding our monthly matches at Cowtown Shooting Range. This does not impact our schedule. Our matches will continue to be held on the second Saturday of every month. Reverend Lead Slinga will continue to write our stages for a fun match! Please visit Cowtown's website for address/location at ccsa-az.com.

This is a TEMPORARY move. Beginning January of 2022 we will be back at Ben Avery. The driving factor for this change was Ben Avery not allowing ACSA to shoot our matches from the common firing line. Requiring us to set up our steel at the back of the bays puts our participants in jeopardy as they would be down range from other user groups in parallel bays. The safety of our members and non-members is our utmost priority and not something we are willing to compromise on. Unfortunately, after months of communication at every level with Ben Avery, we are at an impasse.

You can reach out to any ACSA Board member for additional details. This change will be posted on Facebook, the ACSA Website and Forum, the SASS Wire and Kenny Reds Newsletter. A mass email is also being sent out. Please be sure to tell your fellow Cowboys in the event they don't have access to any of these sources of information.

A sincere thank you to Barbwire for being so gracious to allow us to hold our matches at Cowtown. Couldn't move forward without her.

Will we be shooting on Cowtown's range or the USPSA adjacent range which has better parking?

@lonespurjake

Unfortunately, the USPSA range at Cowtown was not a viable option.  We did carefully consider that option.

We will be at Fort Snow (the cowboy range).  Yes the parking is difficult, but after looking at and considering all the various advantages and disadvantages for both options, this is the better option.  Other things somebody might ask: SFTS is still on, we can have larger than 15 on a posse, a "normal" safety meeting, announce winners and hand out clean match chips after the match.

Speaking of SFTS, when will SFTS scores start showing on the scores page as well as Clean Matches?  For the past 15 years I have been a member of ACSA they started being posted after the March match.  Is there a problem?

@lonespurjake

Yes there WAS a problem.  The new Board has been updating the membership information to ensure only members are being captured for the SFTS competition. We apologize for the delay.

The scores should be up by the end of the day.  Since we are still in March, does it count as keeping in time with the last 15 years? 😉

Always appreciate hearing from you Jake and keeping us on our toes.  With ALL that we have been having to address in our short 2 1/2 months, I’m pretty happy with what we’ve been able to accomplish and keep up with. 😁

Have a good weekend!

@tombstone-sallieThank you for your quick response to my question.  At my age I sometimes am not sure if I will be around at the end of the month, or week, or day, so i get in a hurry to find out about stuff.  The new board is doing a GREAT job so far, especially listening to questions from members and replying back to them.

Keep up the GREAT work, I appreciate all of you.
